GameStop is number one in Social Commerce IQ on Facebook among 200 major retailers, according to a new report, “Social Commerce IQ: Retail,” from social commerce technology company 8thBridge, Inc. GameStop surpassed retailers such as Victoria’s Secret and Walmart.
The Social Commerce IQ was determined by reach, engagement and integration of social shopping into retailers’ Facebook pages and e-commerce websites. According to the report, the average Social Commerce IQ for the retailers was 55 out of a top score of 100. The top 10 retailers had an average IQ of 81. GameStop’s IQ was 92, a score that distinguishes them as the most socially-advanced retailer on Facebook.
GameStop’s social media efforts are administered by Fanscape, a leading social media marketing agency based in Los Angeles. GameStop’s Facebook page, launched in late April 2010 with Fanscape’s support, has grown it into a highly-engaged community with more than 2.7 million “likes.”
